Social media

I was talking to my little sister a while ago and she said she won’t post any pictures on Instagram when she gets a phone, and I laughed, not because of anything but because I had that same thoughts too. I was of the opinion that posting on social media wasn’t so good.

But now I have come to realize that social media platforms are offices, companies that can generate you hundreds, thousands and millions of naira.

I wished I learnt that earlier but I have started putting my social media accounts to good use, what about you?

Averted cinema crisis

This is a very funny but partially touching story. So, for the longest time now, I wanted to visit the cinema, I asked around for a cinema in my area, and got to find out about one.

But what’s funny is that, I didnt have enough budget for the event that I can carry around extra money, so I started asking about the price for watching a movie in a cinema.

A friend said she watched at #1800 in her area, minus popcorn and drink, so I started estimating about #2000.

Then I remembered my brother once worked in the mall where the cinema was located, I was happy, at least I have a sure source of information.

I asked him about the price and he said #500-#1000. Although I was shocked, I was happy that at least something in my area is cheap.

Not long ago, a WhatsApp friend visited the same cinema and posted pictures so I decided to confirm more by asking about the price. Lo and behold, she told me #2000.

There and then, I started thinking if I have gone their with #1500 following the price my brother told me, I would have been embrassed beyond measure.

Hence always get your correct information before making your move.

Parenting

Sometimes, parents show more love to one child than another.they may not see it,but the child been showned less love feels it,it’s a pain that touches the heart.it may be because one child is more intelligent, handsome,or more smart than the other or it may be because one child needs more care( development disorder)than the other doesor it may be as a result of gender. In any of the cases, starving a child of love affects a child a lot,it may make the child grow up into a person starved for affection and accept anytype of love given to him/ her even though him/her deserve better,or the child may grow up into a person who believes him/her doesn’t deserve love…the child may grow up physical healthy but mentally Ill…self esteem maybe affected and the child may never have confidence or courage in the presence of his/her mates..it can also bring about hatred and superiority and inferiority complex among siblings.

We parents and future parents should take note…we could and shape our children…let’s give it our best.

Youth

The stage in which an individual is called a youth is a very critical period for them. Many people enter into the youthful stage immediately after secondary school or our first year in the university.

It’s these period that we start feeling and understanding how the society works…we start seeing that what we taught of ourselves maybe wrong.

It’s that period we start to classify ourselves and try to find a group we belong to.

Our groups may include:

The happening group:in these group,we try to dress very well and look good,we try to behave like the big boys and the big girls we see around us.we try to belong.

The I don’t care group:in these group you see people that are trying not to conform to the new ways of life they are seeing, they don’t want to change, hence they decide not to change.

The churchous group:these group have not really seived through what the world has to offer because the superficial part they see seems bad,so they turn to the way of life they see as good and holy.

I will here next,I will talk out the physical body of youth and how it affects our self esteem.
